I think it can be hard for some people to understand just how bright the line is between hating everything someone stands for, even hating them for what they have done and will do on the one hand, and wishing them harm on the other.

I don’t want any Republicans to suffer anything beyond ignominious political defeat. I don’t really grasp the violence some folks bring to their political wrangling. I mean, here we are, the Democrats, shut out of power in the House, the Senate, and the White House, and barring illegal repressive actions on their part, I don’t entertain thoughts of violent reprisal.

Exactly. And I guess this is why I got frustrated with Ziggy on here. I didn’t want him becoming what he hated in others. I’m not saying all or most Republicans think like that by the way but rather the support of reprisals against your political enemies is something I find awful and directly in conflict with my beliefs. I may dislike these guys. I may even hate them and curse them but this wasn’t right.
