I am not sure that is correct. I believe it was on loan and Obama’s staff thought it should be returned lest it be lost, as sometimes happens. The only uncouth thing Obama did was he did not know he was to ask the Brits to request it back, as is customary on loans after a term runs. He simply does not understand diplomacy.

Don’t they have people at the White House who know stuff like that professionally?
