That can’t be said enough. A car, a baseball bat, a knife; their ability to cause damage or hurt someone is secondary to their intended purpose. A gun’s primary purpose is to cause damage.

Exactly and I just wish more gun advocates would be honest about that. Listen, if you want a gun to protect your family. I completely understand. You like hunting? Ditto that. Like target shooting? Ditto. Feel paranoid about the government coming to get you? I’ll even grant you that as long as you don’t get in the way of my right to live peacefully.
