I’m somewhat conflicted by the Tesla gambit, only because the dealerships ARE locally owned and provide probably a lot more tax money (and charitable contributions) to local governments/non-profits, etc.
Like when Wal-Mart come into town. Of course, I don’t think Tesla’s going to be big in smaller towns and cities for a long time.
I am of the same mind. Local businesses equals jobs. While shopping is going online in a big way, every online business (Amazon, is a good example) who offers little more than regional distribution centers, removes jobs from the local economy…and those regional jobs are, for the most part, low wage positions.
