thanks for the clarity…no people are all of anything, and every place is a melting pot…outside of your local Little Italy maybe…trying to make and justify these distinctions is a waste of time no matter how many words you post…it’s all one big fucking mess with plenty of responsibility to go around

Rural parts of the country (which the vast majority of the Southern US qualifies for) are very, very slow in catching up with the “melting pot” aspect. In many regions, families have lived on the same area (if not the same physical location) for multiple generations, and there is modernization to be sure, but the communities themselves are basically unchanged for hundreds of years in some places.
