It’s an Islamic community center owned and operated by a Sufi group that just happens to have a prayer room in it.
They have the legal right to build, and the legal clearances to build. The only reason ANYONE is kicking up a fuss about it is because they’re Muslims. Draw your own conclusions about whether it’s about property rights or religious freedom, or both.
They could scratch the plan for the prayer space and nothing would change at this point. So, yeah, it’s 100% because Muslims are behind it.
