You just assert that. I assert (more generally, mind you) that no historical question is ever truly “disconnected” from present questions, simply because history is always a task undertaken from a present perspective, and one with which the present perspective ideally is able to reflect its own becoming etc.
There is no “Wertfreiheit”.
Because the causes of liberalism’s “discreditation” in Russia could be eliminated under right circumstances in large timeframes, by slow evolution; but cannot be eliminated in the immediate political future with which we have to deal.
But what are your reasons for judging thusly?
