It’s pretty much human nature to use something until the costs are more than any benefits so the cost of using oil has to go up and the cost of alternative sources have to go down, so tax incentives is a necessity. Solar energy, wind energy, hydro, electric cars are all the result of either carbon tax or C&T not a substitute for them.

Yes. But we’d first need a fully recovered economy. Second, we would need a cooperative congress and president for the stick of C/T. That’s the nub because we’ll still have coal state Democrats that are highly opposed to C/T. I think it’s easier to go ahead with the carrot which we’re moving along with already.
