Eyewitness testimony is shit. The more studies come out about how unreliable perception and memory is the more I wonder if it should be allowed in court at all.

I agree that eyewitness testimony is much worse than its reputation. However, the same is true for much of what passes for scientific evidence in courtrooms. Apparently FBI hair analysis has been total garbage for decades.

There isn’t an easy solution to this. Few cases actually have decent evidence one way or the other.
