Here in the Bay Area we have autodialers that call and tell you that your kid is not in school today. They speak a variety of languages.

One of my students told me that when his folks enrolled him, the form asked if languages other than English were spoken in the home, and not sure why they were asking, his dad put down French, because Grandma speaks it occasionally.

The autodialer called in French, confusing the hell out of the parents.

Ah, so a smart kid would put down Swahili, and then just tell the parents they had started getting spam calls asking for money to help a Nigerian general’s widow.
