Following the announcements out of this year’s SHOT Show, so far at least five different companies have announced new subcompact pistol models … which is exactly what America needs more of, the most problematic and criminally conducive class of firearm. Some of the shit being announced is so cringe worthy. The industry is overdosing on its own ego.

Nice at least to see that Chiappa is going to make the model 39 lever action .22lr, and with the original half cock safety instead of the hammer block. Marlin has become a joke over the last couple of decades and they can probably expect to continue seeing other companies cannibalize their product line, they certainly deserve it. It’s nice to see that some kind of market for classic lever action wood rifles still exists in the modern tacticool environment.

Me, I’m a bolt-action fan myself. I fancy myself a marksman and want a .308 for target shooting. Home defense would fall to a pump-action, though. *sigh* Someday.
