Couldn’t agree more. “Rising above the fray” instead of counteracting the rightwing lie machine is how it got to be so powerful in the first place (remember John Kerry and the Swiftboaters?? People WILL believe the stupidest, most outlandish and ridiculous lies if they’re repeated often enough without effective pushback)
