I just got a text wanting me to confirm that I was voting for Biden. (Using his complete name) The link to click was unidentifiable alphanumeric randomness. Deleted it of course.

I’m expecting more of these fishing attempts as we get closer to the election.

I got one and deleted it too. Mine said they’d consider me a Trump voter if I didn’t reply. They apparently think I’m as gullible (or maybe reactionary) as a Trump voter.

I was recharging and clearing out Mrs. Jay’s cellphone (which she virtually never uses) and found a junk text asking that same question. I STOPped it and deleted: but there were also a couple of politically-related spam texts there also: I guess cellphone numbers (even the seldom-used ones) aren’t proof against junk mail/call/texting any more.
There was also a text noting a “pending legal request” against the recipient: only it wasn’t directed towards my wife, but to the woman to whom we had sold our former apartment - in 2006! Needless to say, it got trashed, too….
