This is why I end up being vehemently pro-choice. Not because I think it’s ok to abort at anytime for any reason, but because there is NO give amongst the fanatics in the Pro-life movement. No matter what you do, you’ll have about 25% of the population feel that anyone who has an abortion is a murderer. Now toss that belief into the atmosphere today, and you have a wonderful volatile mix just waiting for the right spark to set it off.

There is no compromising with them. There is no reasoning with them. You can show them all the science in the world and they won’t care. Because to them, the world really is that simple. It’s just that stark.

Then you throw in the men that really do feel that abortion is giving uppity women a chance to abort their son or daughter and thwart their mission to populate the earth with their genes. And I have no desire to have anything to do with them or their ideas.

As a rational person I’d like to see Abortion Safe, Legal, and Relatively Rare Particularly after about 12 - 16 weeks. But given an either/or choice. I’d rather see someone do an abortion at 32 weeks than to let these people grow the power of government to control other peoples’ lives and actions.
