He defended Romney from the attacks Gingrich made against him. Paul has been attacking almost everyone except Romney. His clear objective is to eliminate everyone else from the race so that he is the only alternative left to Romney. He is trying to push the GOP to become the defacto Libertarian Party; on economic issues the GOP is most of the way there.

I just honestly don’t see it, seriously. If Paul’s the remaining alternative to Romney, then the GOP is screwed.
