T’ain’t funny, McGee. He means it, and DoJ likely has enough power to effect a significant crackdown on online porn. Indeed, John Ashcroft planned such a move in 2001. Scheduled for a fall rollout as part of the “Communites of Character” campaign, it was aborted after 9/11. Alberto Gonzales wanted to tighten rules on online porn, but his plans stalled out when he resigned.
