The discussion about Smartphones and old people was interesting.

I used to laugh at the KISS principle; now I embrace it as a survival tool—use a landline almost exclusively. Still drive a 5-spd. The keys on the cordless are small enough already, and my fingers are no longer nimble enough to manipulate the tiny keys on a cell phone without a lot of frustration. And I take enough grief from my g-son in keeping the other techy stuff in the house running while I run everything else. I also know more about cars than he does. He’s a child of the computer; I’ve seen technology of every sort come and go.

My 3 yr g-g-son can use the Xbox as well as I can. He’ll surpass me in another year or 2, because he’ll care more about it than I do—who knows what will be available when he’s his dad’s age?

Meanwhile, the microwave is eating my glass French dessert plates. I don’t think they were made to heat up Hot Pockets.

Generations, how do they work? : )
