Making it about the religion means that Graham (and others) can share in the mantle of victimhood instead of having to address how their party contributes to an atmosphere that encourages racism.

In other words, it’s completely expected that they’ll do this. Sickening, but expected.

I know, it’s just frustrating when it’s clear as hell that he targeted them because of their race. We have what he allegedly said, his patches, and the fact that it was an African-American church.
