He’s the greatest gift one could imagine for the Japanese nationalist movement: A US president who not only criticizes the country for failure to live up to its heritage, but promises he’s gonna sell the latest and greatest weapons to Japan if they just ask.

Samurai and bushido are one aspect of Japan’s heritage, which it tried to put to bed over a century ago…it flared up again and led to WW2 and untold suffering and loss for Japan. But to Trump, Sumo, Samurai and sushi seems to be all he understands about them.
