I was a Republican when Tipper Gore was advocating warning labels on rap music and the ‘left’ as a whole thought that censorship of music and video games was going to do jack shit. Then the Right picked up the censorship meme and ran far farther than the left had.

BTW, I don’t need you to take my concerns for civil liberties seriously. You aren’t my judge and I don’t plan on changing my beliefs because you don’t think I take them seriously enough. I’ve done my part and will continue to do what I can in my own neighborhood without seeking or needing your approval.

I’m pointing out that your criticisms of groups that may weaken national security in the name of civil liberties lack credibility, since you have said national security is your dominant issue.

This has nothing to do with my approval. I respect your decision that national security is the overriding issue you care about. However, it does mean that claims you make about the SLPC are lacking in credibility to me. I’m not saying you care about that, or should care about that, and I’m not sure where you got that from. Of course I’m not your judge. Nor are you mine.
