He mentioned competition, so I’m not sure that’s what he means. I think he believes removing “incentives to not work” will somehow increase wages.

If there really WERE ‘incentives to not work’, wouldn’t that provided upward pressure on wages, to overcome the incentive to not work?

And therefore removing those incentives would remove the upward pressure and wages would fall?
