I went from getting D’s in algebra in HS to tutoring algebra in college. I hated everything about HS. The way the teachers treated us (not all, I had a few I liked quite a lot) to the punk ass kids (much like real life today, some people are good, some suck). HS was tortuous where college was freeing.

Man, I hated high school. And I was a serious, serious non-conformist. I refused to wear the “muff” (bared shoulders for girls with this fuzzy muff thing for a “neckline”) for the high school senior picture because I thought it was indecent and it went against my (then) religious beliefs. As a result, my picture did not end up in the 1978 yearbook. Nearly 40 years later, I’d do the same thing, because I would not want anyone thinking I wasn’t wearing a bra.

Some things never change. :)
