What I don’t understand: the situation with Iran has three potential outcomes. The status quo, where we do nothing different and they continue to work towards a bomb. A deal where both sides make some concessions with the aim, at least on our side, of reducing their capability of making a bomb. Or deciding the line has been crossed and going to war to make sure they don’t get a bomb at all.

As far as I can tell, Republicans are advocating for the first option to eventually become the third option.

And personally, I am really fucking tired of war. I’m sick of paying for it. I’m heartsick at watching families suffer for it. I would like to avoid war. And it’s not like option number 2 precludes using option number 3 at a later point if necessary but at least we will have fucking tried.
