People—both men & women—tend to think they’re special, that this time it’ll be different because of how smart, loyal, patient, etc. they are, or because they have good intentions (even if they aren’t useful/correct intentions).

It doesn’t help that people also often tend to fall in love with who they imagine someone is, to who they want them to be, not who they actually are.

We all have cognitive biases, no matter how rational believe ourselves to be. We are our own worst enemies.

Serial killers on death row have fans/girlfriends.
