Well, that and the fact that Corzine was just awful. Christie capitalized on that and ran a great campaign.

He’s basically doing nothing with Lonegan.

Lonegan had run against Christie in the primaries and lost in the race that ultimately saw him beat Corzine - I think there’s real animosity there in part because Christie sees Lonegan as a nutbar and gadfly who’s likely to hurt Christie’s own numbers.

Instead, Lonegan’s gotten Palin to stump for him, and any turnout can be attributed to people turning out to see her and not Lonegan on his own merits.

Forgot about Lonegan’s gov run.

That makes Chrisite’s decision to go back on his “No special elections” pledge even funnier: he was just as afraid of Lonegan’s rep hurting him as he was Booker’s.
