My high school current events teacher thought “Israel” was exclusively the name of the ancient country, while the modern country was called “Israeli.”
She also thought that Japan was in the “south pacific” and New Zealand was part of Canada.
I think she was zonked on valium or something. She used to show films 2 out of three days and go to sleep at her desk.

Teacher? Ouch.

I hate when clueless people ask “do you speak ‘Israelian’”
