re: #189 Occam’s Guillotine

I have bought a small farm near my mother’s ancestral home of Gordon, Texas (a little west of Fort Worth). It is a beautiful place, part of the justly famed Texas hill country. Trees grow wild there, you don’t even have to water them, and there are lots of scraggly little hills, big enough to be very pretty but small enough for me to climb. The house is 109 years old and was recently restored within an inch of its life. It also comes with a barn, a big workshop and lots of garage space. It’s several miles from I-20, close enough to give easy access to the big city, but far enough to keep yuppies and other pests at arm’s length. I was warned that there are lots of coyotes around and it might therefore be hard to raise chickens. Since I like coyotes and despise chickens, that suits me fine.
I plan to write, work on my online hobby business, and roam around aimlessly with a walking stick.

Should coyotes become a problem for any livestock you may obtain, get a Great Pyrenees.

My brother has a bed & breakfast ranch in rural Texas. And not thinking like Gov Good Hair that the “only good coyote is a dead coyote;” he found that using burros to protect his livestock were not as effective as Great Pyrenees.
