The way I am reading it, those people are making up a smaller portion of the population, but are far more radical.

In all likelihood, the US is going to have a dark period in the next few decades, as elements Republican Party become Fascist, and starts attacking the rest of the country.

Think the Irish Troubles, on a much larger scale.
