I don’t want to eliminate the filibuster entirely, but I want it to be something they can’t just phone in. If 40 Senators are so opposed to a bill, or a nominee, that they want to keep it from coming to a vote — they should have to stand in front of a microphone and talk about it. In excruciating detail. Keep talking for as long as it takes for the public to develop an opinion on the matter and make that opinion known.
