I’m not sure that’s the point. S.E. Cupp’s argument appears to be along the lines of: “Our soldiers in WW2 didn’t fight Hitler so that someone who previously supported someone I support can subsequently change their mind on that support”. Which, if you ask me, is pretty much the opposite of realty. The argument becomes even more nonsensical considering Shania Twain isn’t even a US citizen.

Whether or not Mrs Twain is making a strategic move with her mea culpa is a separate argument.
