How does U.S. life expectancy compare to other countries?

What is so noticeable is that life expectancy for black Americans is so much lower than for other other Americans.

But it is also stark in fact that per $ spent per capita on healthcare we are doing very poorly wrt life expectancy.

We’re paying a whole lot more and living less.

The US healthcare system is specifically designed to extract as much money as possible from a sick or injured person as possible before their eventual death. And that goes for the deceased’s family as well. They are often on the hook for all the expenses incurred. The Insurance industry is an important cog in this machine whose business model is to attempt to deny coverage whenever and wherever possible for any possible reason.
