Ayep. Cain’s recent ascent has been fueled in part by Perry’s rapid fall from grace. Christie is being buoyed by the same mentality that gave rise to Perry’s short stardom: The desire to put anybody but Romney on the GOP ticket next fall. And Christie does not strike me as a guy who’d roll over for the Tea Party.
