Jim Hoft demonstrates how US conservatives want a service that provides them with stimulation—stories of anger, contempt, schadenfraude—so badly that they’ll compromise both of quality or the narrative and verisimilitude.

They need a stronger hit even if it’s dirtier.

I’ve made the “transitioned from powder coke to crack rock” reference a couple of times w/r/t Glenn Beck versus what came after, but I think at this point I think the metaphor has to be the longest, uglier, body-rotting descent into worse and worse opiods.
