That’s the scary thing dude and it’s why we’ve seen more political violence. FNC, Jones, Q, for years these outlets have been telling them that we are their enemies, that we hate America, that we side with terrorists, etc. It’s the age old scam. Rich old bastards telling the less well off that their real enemy is the guy next door who looks different from them and not the politician or businessman who sets you against them or has an economic policy that favors only the wealthy. Rupert Murdoch is an asshole who doesn’t know the first thing about what it means to be an American but he’s convinced millions of our fellow Americans that it means being ugly, angry, judgmental, & intolerant.

Right wing violence has always been with us, the most prominent example being the Civil War.

The Klan, Jim Crow lynchings, The National Alliance, the Order, abortion clinic bombings, the Atlanta Olympics bombing, wingnuts at David Koresh’s compound, the Oklahoma City bombing.

The period of time we are in now is one of the most peaceful with regard to conservatives.
