Ha. I love that term. In practical conversation with any Arab it basically means ‘future tense’.
You can’t say ‘see you later’ without the inshallah added.
You can’t say ‘lets have a meeting tomorrow’ without the expected response of ‘inshallah’.
In some odd and islamic-centro-way it salutes the human condition in its very mortal form. We do not know what tomorrow brings.
It really is great term and there’s a lot of nuance to it like “forget about it” amongst gangsters. I was using it as a “whatever” or “this is out of my hands”.
