Irrelevant. The UAW members went along as their leaders demanded unsustainable labor contracts and pensions, and should have been told: “Sorry, but you bought into a Ponzi scheme, and it would be unjust to make other people take losses due to save you from your own folly. You’ll just have to live with the reduced compensation the courts decide upon. We’ll give you a raise when production recovers.”
What part of there were no banks willing to invest are you incapable of comprehending? The only other options was Chapter 7, total liquidation.
