You (and everyone else) may find the article below interesting as it concludes that Boehner’s invitation to Netanyahu is unconstitutional, likewise Congress would be in violation of the Constitution by hosting the speech against POTUS’ wishes. I hadn’t heard this before. An example given was:

And as an aside, if the current facts do not seem to make the constitutional point sharply, consider the situation had a Democratic Congress invited Fidel Castro, Daniel Ortega or Mikhail Gorbachev to address Congress over President Reagan’s objection.

The author Michael D. Ramsey appears to be a conservative or libertarian (he’s a member of the Federalist Society), and at least two other law professors seem to agree with him—Peter Spiro, the the beginning of the article, and David Bernstein at the end.

BTW, when did the Volokh Conspiracy become a Washington Post blog? O_o
