I was reading the article below the other day. The GOP needs to be defeated resoundingly because these religious right assholes are still intent on tearing down the wall between church & state:

Religious leaders risk losing tax-exempt status for picking side

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) - A 50-year-old rule in the federal tax code has been thrust into the middle of the presidential campaign, and it’s creating a big debate over the separation of church and state.

It’s called the Johnson Amendment, and Donald Trump wants to repeal it. […]

Fifty-two years after Democrat Lyndon B. Johnson introduced a federal tax rule prohibiting 501(c)(3) organizations from supporting political candidates, Republicans are calling for a change. […]

McDonald said he believes this push to allow tax exempt organizations to support candidates is only going to get stronger.

Churches, synagogues, mosques, etc. free to fire up their followers over politics—what could possibly go wrong? And BTW, what about all the whining WRT “political Islam” supposedly intent on undermining our Constitution? (As if other religions aren’t “political.” Puhleez.)
