It’s quite simple. By saying both sides do it, you can ignore the possibility that your side is doing it…or at least dilute the negative attention your side is getting because of it. Whatever it happens to be (racism, sexism, ageism, theism, ismism…)

True but I wasn’t even talking about racism or even secession. For all I know Limbaugh could have screamed out “It’s time to take up arms becuase I hate minorities and fereigners!” but if he did it better come from source other than a noted partisan site.
