Sadly, IMHO, many in the press are rather intelligent. They produce a product and the bean-counters want a profit. Journalists have to produce what they will be paid to produce.

I suppose. It is sad that all Brittany and all Jacko (or whoever becomes the next celebri-disaster) all the time is what passes for news.
