It’s not just a certain generation either.

Met someone on line a couple years back and during the course of the date mentioned she thought MLK was, words to the effect of, “Not really a great guy, cheated on his wife, blah blah blah”. I was a bit too flabbergasted to respond appropriately.

We aren’t dating now.

I wouldn’t see that alone as a disqualifying statement. King was a great man, but in his personal relationships he had his issues. Unless the blah blah blah part gets a lot worse. For a lot of people cheating on your spouse shows a pretty serious character flaw.
