While homosexualism is a crime in most of the Islamic-based nations, it isn’t a crime in (among others) Egypt and Turkey. And even where it is a crime it does not always end in capital punishment.

I agree some are worse than others. Thuggees and other human sacrifice religions need to be eradicated. Beyond that, most religions have practitioners who, if they get the power to do so, make their religion dominant and penalize in some fashion those who don’t agree.

It ain’t the religion, usually. It’s the people - as usual.

You don’t die in Egypt (for now) for being gay but you do get locked up and “re-educated”. We’re going to disagree on this. I believe there are various shades of bad and any religion or religious figures that call for the death of apostates and gays is at the bottom of my acceptable list. I judge people as individuals but religions as a whole….just because not all catholics believe birth control is a one way ticket to hell doesn’t change the fact that the vatican certainly believes it does.
