Really? Aggression? It’s aggression for people in their own country to resist soldiers who’ve come there from halfway around the world?
Said people were being armed and trained by North Vietnam and that the North had begun infiltrating troops into South Vietnam in 1959, long before any American combat troops were deployed to Vietnam. Thus, America was often facing NVA regulars for whom South Vietnam was not their country at all.
It’s not like we simply invaded South Vietnam after all. It was the North Vietnamese who did that.
