The Army has a records naming convention to cover the many soldiers who have initials instead of given names. (It’s a Southern Thang.) The format is: “initial (only) initial (only)”.

Wife’s cousin was named “R.P. Jones”, that’s all. After the required number of typos his records all carried the name “Ronly Ponly Jones”.
