Great points, both. With a casual think about it, it seems to me that there are two situations that could occur. One is the majority-rules/minority-rights dynamic that stops protecting minorities. The other is just downright government oppression. For the first example, both sides probably have issues that would tip them there (from the right’s view - taxation becomes usury, on the left’s - legislation of morals). For the second, it would be things like sliding down a slippery slope represented for example by the expanded FISA laws). Neither situation is anywhere near the point of revolution, but even if it were, putting together said revolution would be virtually impossible.

I wouldn’t worry about an uprising of Missourians just yet.
