We just gotta live the best lives we can and realize we’re sharing this life with other people and animals. Everything connects in some way. That’s the fallacy of isolationism.

My ex-wife dabbled in Nichiren Buddhism for a while. I could never really get into it in any way, but I appreciated their view that all life and all things are interconnected, and I liked the way the church was structured, run by lay people, and not hierarchical.
