The faithless elector strategy only works if the presumptive winner is in the 270-273 range. And even then… these people are chosen by the state parties. The likelihood of enough electors in any situation intentionally flipping the election or sending it to the House are nil

If the EV margin had been close enough for faithless electors to make a difference, and then it actually happened, it would have been a complete disaster.
