Funny thing you say that. In Wisconsin, the outgoing Dem leader, Russ Decker, was unceremonioulsy hoisted by his petard and removed from his post by his caucus at the end of the session for daring to vote against state union contracts finished by Dem governor Doyle one week before the end of the year. Oh, and the spokesperson for the state unions went out to the press and gave his one sentence press interview of “Russ Decker is a hoar”. That sure made a lot of moderate Dems feel warm and fuzzy about being Dems here.

I thought we were talking about elected Democrats and that’s not evidence of rank and file democratic voters jumping ship. Do you have any evidence that moderate Republicans are not feeling warm and fuzzy about the radical anti-abortion bills the GOP is trying to pass all over the country? If you want to have a debate about a lack of moderation, I don’t think you’d win. The magical balance fairy is not dancing to this tune. The Democrats have and have had way more ideological diversity than the GOP for quite sometime. Last time I checked, there is no Blue Dog equivalent on the right. And virtually every GOP contender for President is bowing to the TPers and the SoCons.
