It doesn’t undercut the Constitutional argument at all.

It’s a very simple issue, really. Do Muslims have the Constitutional right to build an Islamic community center in New York City, yes or no? The First Amendment says yes. These bigots say no. Personally, I say the Constitution trumps the bigots. YMMV.

Personally, I haven’t heard or read one argument against, that relied on the Constitution or the explicit denial of any Constitutional rights.
It’s all emotional.
