So would you rather be the innocent who dies in prison after 40 years or die in 6 months at Huntsville? Of course competent and honest law enforcement is preferable, but I’m saying I’d rather get the nonsense overwith and take the lethal injection, if it was me, and I was innocent. I may be in the minority on that.

There’s a local pol in Dallas who is a big player in the “Innocence Project” that raises funds for DNA testing…whose name escapes me. He was on Colbert’s show once. If you know local Dallas politics, know this. John Wiley Price hates this guy, which is all I need to know to love this guy. So far, he’s only been able to test a few hundred convicts. If you’re innocent and in prison, the odds are you will rot there. I’ll take the quick exit.
